Perform (2018-2020)
These photographs are part of a more extensive work called Perform, which documents several professional performers located around the United States and Italy. Technically each subject chose a separate profession, but all possess the powerful impulse to perform for an audience. They transform their appearances using costumes, makeup, lighting, and props to convey creative expressions while allowing personal transformation. These photographs show the original appearances and the resulting alter egos of each character and how they harness the ability to impact emotions and shape the behaviors of their audiences.
